Michael Volker
Michael Volker joined Energy Aware’s Board of Directors in 2007. Michael is an internationally-renowned high-tech investor and pioneer of angel investment in Canada, having helped establish and run Vancouver’s Angel Technology Network. He is the president and founder of the Western Universities Technology Innovation Fund (VCC) Inc., and is the Executive Director of the B.C. Advanced Systems Institute, as well as director of Simon Fraser University’s Industry Liaison office.

Jonathan Bixby
Jonathan Bixby has been advising Energy Aware since early 2008. Currently CEO of Strangeloop Networks, Jonathan has a wealth of experience in starting, leading, and mentoring technology start-ups. As co-founder and Chairman of the Board of IronPoint Technology, the market leader in public sector content and collaboration, Jonathan led the start-up to a successful acquisition within thirty months. Jonathan sits on the board of the Vancouver Enterprise Forum (VEF), is a founding member of VEF Momentum, and final jury member for the New Ventures BC competition. He is a Business in Vancouver Top 40 Under 40 award recipient.

Janice Cheam
Janice is an entrepreneurial executive whose vision, commitment, and passion have been the driving force behind Energy Aware since inception. Before launching Energy Aware, she demonstrated leadership and visionary success with the marketing group of CTV, Canada’s most watched television station. Janice holds a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) with a specialization in Marketing from the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia.

Lauren Kulokas
Lauren is an operations and logistics professional whose strong analytical skills were honed while working in the reliability-engineering and sales support departments of SKF Canada, a world leader in bearing manufacturing and distribution. Lauren holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (BaSC) in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Commerce from the University of British Columbia.
