This year's competition attracted over 90 BC based businesses. Jury criteria was based on choosing companies that were most likely to be commercially viable with the greatest value. Energy Aware Technology Inc. placed among the top 10 finalists, and was awarded the BC Hydro Sustainability Prize. For more information, please visit: www.newventuresbc.com Lee Kuan Yew Global Business Plan Competition 2006 – First Runner Up The Lee Kuan Yew Global Business Plan Competition is a biennial event attracting undergraduate, college and polytechnic students from around the world to compete for US$69,000 in prize money. Over 219 business plans were submitted from around the world in 2006. Energy Aware competed against teams from China, Singapore, and the United States. Energy Aware was the First Runner Up in the competition. Energy Aware Technology Inc. was a winner of the 2005 competition, receiving recognition as Energy Ambassadors to Canada. Team members traveled to Ottawa to display their winning idea and attend the 2005 Canadian Energy Efficiency Awards Ceremony.
